EAL Stables

Equine Assisted Learning

At EAL Stables we conduct a seven or ten week Equine Assisted Learning and Horse Wisdom program. During School Holidays we conduct Day Camps for small groups of 6 children . These consist of Horse Wisdom, Life Coaching and Art Therapy. Day Camps are advertised each School Holidays on our Face Book Page-EAL Stables Equine Assisted Learning,

Our Horse Wisdom program is designed for children, adolescents and adults, NDIS recipients, People seeking Personal Development, Neurologically diverse clients and School groups.

Our program is designed to help improve: Social skills, Create Empathy and Relationships, Build confidence and Self esteem.

Horses display Boundary Setting, to help clients show the importance of setting your own boundaries. It promotes Movement, Productivity and creates Meaningful Connections, Increases Attention Span, encourages Problem Solving and grows Connection with Nature.

In EAL, clients are offered safe experiences with horses for the purpose of exploring self-awareness, building awareness of patterns or habits that are no longer serving clients well. Developing social and emotional skills and addressing learning goals clients have identified.

Horses are the facilitators. Participants can chose who they resonate to for their wellbeing.

Each experience is conducted, keeping in mind the Participants window of tolerance and their personal goals.

“Enriching peoples lives with horses and engaging in learning experiences for the wellbeing of self and others”

The animals at EAL Stables

The herd: Red, Katie, Quiz, Blaze, Asa, Strawberry and Bonnie

Red is a retired trotter. I have trained him under saddle and trust him implicitly. He is respectful, patient and loves people. He is a gentle giant who feels clients needs and behaves accordingly to their level of horsemanship.

Katie was rehomed to EAL Stables and is a lovely Stock Horse mare. Katie is adding a new dynamic to the herd. She has had a traumatic life but only shows kindness. She has learnt to trust both other horses and humans.

Quiz is a beautifully natured quarter horse mare. Quiz has been liberty trained and is fast becoming everyone’s friend either animal or human. Quiz can be ridden under supervision as she has only had basic training. Quiz has some deformities in her front legs which means she is only suitable for light ridden work. Quiz loves attention, being brushed and loved are her favourite activities.

Blaze is a Mt Kosiosko Brumby. He was rehomed at EAL Stables when he was 8 months old. He has always shown amazing awareness of his surroundings and ability to assess his surroundings. He is under training and successfully been trained to tie up, lead and long rein. He is receiving further training to become a ridden pony and a cart horse .

Asa also a Mt Kosiosko Brumby that I recently rehomed. Asa has had basic liberty training. He is able to be lead and brushed at this stage. He is receiving ongoing training. As he is very young we will wait till he is fuly grown before continuing with and further training.

Strawberry is a mini pony who is trained in lead line and to pull a small jigger. Strawberry is an absolute favourite with little everyone who has sessions. She is just adorable with the loveliest nature.

Bonnie also a mini with a lot of character. Bonnie was rehomed at EAL Stables and an unhandled mini pony. Bonnie is learning trust and is engaging in basic training. Bonnie can be brushed, lead and long reined. Our plans for her future are for her to be trained as a lead line pony and to pull the jigger.

Sam a German Shepherd is a rescue dog. He has been rehomed at EAL Stables and loves to meet new people. Sam and has been brought up with a family of children and has adjusted to his new life to become a very happy and excited dog who loves to play fetch.

Timmy the ginger stable cat, was a stray cat who has moved in and made himself at home in the stables. Timmy can be found sleeping in the hay and sometimes makes himself available for pats.

The sheep Mary and Max, twin lambs rescued when their mother died. They have been raised and relocated to Orange and are living a much more sustainable life. They love interacting with humans and being treated with snacks.

All the animals enjoy interacting with participants during sessions. The level of interaction differs with each person depending on needs. We have many memorable moments which I often capture and post on our face book page.’ EAL Stables Equine Assisted Learning.’
